A Visit To Majang Meat Market

I had never heard of this place before, but I happened to watch a video on YouTube posted by a gourmet.  Apparently he travels the world seeking out only the most famous local meat dishes to review (man, that's the life), like steaks courtesy of Gordon Ramsay and Salt Bae, picanha in Brazil and Wagyu in Japan.  Then he came to Korea and sampled Hanwoo (the native breed of cattle) steak at this market and raved over its quality and flavor.  Naturally, I became curious and paid a visit (not to eat -- just to watch and photograph).  It's a huge open-air market full of butcher shops specializing in either beef or pork, various parts and offal, and restaurants serving up the finished products thereof.  Some of the sights at the butcher shops were rather startling, as the meats still had faces on them...  Here are a couple of the less "gruesome" photos from the visit.
